56. Mistake (4)

When Eun-ho, who called out ‘hyung’, raised his body, the long hair swayed like a raising silver wave.

Perhaps because I just finished the communication, my vision was blurry, but I strangely was able to clearly see Eun-ho’s movements.

“…”

Eun-ho looked in my direction.

I couldn’t tell if he was looking at me or looking at Baek Ho-gun, who was supporting me.

Eun-ho nodded slightly, while moving his mercury-like eyes.

Then even while opening their eyes wide, the tigers nodded.

‘… Did it have some kind of meaning?’

Eun-ho’s small head and eye movement seemed to be some kind of signal sent to the tigers.

After sending the tigers a signal, Eun-ho called out to Cheon Dongha.

Eun-ho called Cheon Dongha ‘hyung’.

“Dongha hyung.”

“… Eunha? Eunha-ah? Are you okay?”

Cheon Dongha couldn’t properly accept the current situation.

If a dongsaeng was suddenly kidnapped, the kidnapping location was the main building of the school, and that place was swarming with Jin people and descendants, anyone would be flustered.

Even so, Cheon Dongha didn’t crumble and endure.

Rather, he was worried about Cheon Eunha, calling out his name.

Cheon Dongha probably maintained composure thanks to his usually calm personality, but it seemed he was forcibly enduring for the sake of his younger half-brother.

‘In such a situation, if a powerful superpower wave sweeps the dongsaeng and the sleeping Jin, and the Jin opens his eyes and calls his name…’

Considering Cheon Dongha’s character, and judging his position and circumstances, I tried to come up with an excuse or countermeasures, but because my head was spinning, I couldn’t continue my thinking.

I tried to concentrate, but perhaps the aftereffects of the communication remained, my head was a bit blank.

Regulating my breath, I concentrated on Eun-ho’s voice.

Eun-ho continued to speak to Cheon Dongha with a gentle voice.

“I wish to thank You. If not for Dongha hyung, I wouldn’t be here.”

“How, then, you… are a Ho?…”

“Yes. I’m a Ho, who fell into a deep sleep. I forgot my identity and was born as a human, and became Your dongsaeng.”

Eun-ho spoke the truth, but he was omitting many parts.

The life where he was not Cheon Dongha’s dongsaeng, Cheon Eunha, who existed in this world, but Cheon Seong-heon, who existed in a different world with a game called PMH, was completely omitted.

If I were to reason and try to combine the circumstances until now, Eun-ho would have undergone such a process.

Eun-ho fell into a Deep Sleep.

Eun-ho was born in the world I was in as Cheon Seong-heon.

Through the Transcendent Universe, Cheon Seong-heon crossed to this world again.

In this world a new identity and body ‘Cheon Eunha’ was prepared by the Transcendent Universe, but Eun-ho’s body still existed in this world.

‘Here that ‘error caused by the information clash’ occurred.’

And then, as a result of connecting with the Transcendent Universe through me, who was Suitable Other Dimension Future Modification, that error was corrected.

‘According to the system message, it confirmed Suitable Other Dimension Future Modification Candidate’s will, so this is the result of Seongheon-yi’s choice?’

I looked at Cheon Seong-heon, no, Cheon Eunha’s body.

Cheon Eunha was still wrapped in red smoke, but unlike just a moment ago, his eyes were closed.

As he had Locked-in Syndrome, he didn’t move just like before, but there was no faint energy of life.

It seemed to be because the soul that was in it chose Eun-ho’s body and escaped.

Cheon Dongha who looked at the one beyond the red smoke and the silver-haired youth in front of his eyes in turn, and made very flustered face.

“The time was short, but as Your younger half brother, I owe You a debt of gratitude. Thank You.”

Eun-ho put his hands together and politely thanked Cheon Dongha.

Perhaps because he just woke up, or because not all his energy returned yet, Eun-ho’s hands trembled slightly.

Even after receiving thanks, Cheon Dongha couldn’t accept it for a while.

If it was Cheon Dongha’s brain, he would understand what happened in front of his eyes with just that short explanation.

But understanding with the heart, and accepting the facts with the heart were two different things, so Cheon Dongha couldn’t open his mouth for a long time.

All tigers, including Eun-ho, didn’t urge Cheon Dongha’s response and just waited.

“Then, who are you right now? My dongsaeng? Or the Ho that was sleeping here? … How should I understand[1] it?”

Finally, Cheon Dongha opened his mouth.

Complicated emotions were buried in those last words.

Eun-ho looked at Cheon Dongha and spoke softly.

Eun-ho’s sincerity filled voice contained both gratitude and remorse.

“I’m a Ho, who spent the myth era with the close friends here, Eun-ho, and I’m also the dongsaeng who Dongha hyung took care of for around a year, Eunha. And…”

Eun-ho, who kept looking at Cheon Dongha, looked at me.

The appearance was completely different, but somehow he had an expression that reminded me of Cheon Seong-heon, who I knew.

“I can also be called Cheon Seong-heon, Uisin hyung’s junior. Because a temporary severance between the body and memory doesn’t mean that the character was divided.”

Eun-ho acknowledged himself as Cheon Seong-heon.

As Cheon Seong-heon’s senior, I was happy, but my mind was also complicated.

Even so, I decided to hide all those complicated feelings.

Cheon Seong-heon took a great risk because he was worried about me and came to this world out of his own will, so I hated to pick up with his true identity.

‘I should be happy that Seongheon-yi came to this world, and can safely move as Eun-ho.’

It would be better to call the being in front of me Eun-ho rather than Cheon Seong-heon now, but even so, happiness was bigger.

‘Now I don’t have to ask Transcendent Universe about the well being of Seong-heon in that world, and don’t have to worry about how to get him out of the Locked-in Syndrome.’

It would be better to receive the Ho tribe’s protection as Eun-ho, rather than as Cheon Seong-heon, Jo Uisin’s junior.

He had a good hyung-nim named Baek Ho-gun, and close friends, who cherished him enough to name a building ‘Eun’ after his name.

It seemed much better than the life of hardships, where he messed up even with his family members and escaped home because he met wrong senior.

‘Won’t it be better even for Seongheon-yi?’

I came to such understanding and looked at Eun-ho.

Just after Eun-ho spoke, no one opened their mouth.

I heard the voice of Jeok-ho, who seemed to unknowingly mumble to himself.

“Jo Uisin and Cheon Dongha are hyung…”

I guess, in the eyes of Jeok-ho, who lived for five thousand years, calling me and Cheon Dongha, who looked like teenagers, hyung seemed strange.

Before he finished those words, I saw golden a superpower wave move, so it seemed that Hwang Jiho blocked Jeok-ho’s mouth.

“Hwangho-nim, Jeok-ho-nim, Jeokho-nim’s son-nim and Baek-ho hyung-nim. I slept for a very long time, and I know very well that You were waiting for me. However, I hope You will be considerate of Dongha hyung and Uisin hyung here.”

“… I know, when you first spoke, didn’t you send us a ‘wait’ singal?”

I guess that his first action truly was some kind of signal.

At Hwang Jiho’s words, Eun-ho smiled softly and continued to speak.

“Thank You for understanding. Hwangho-nim, the Power of Earth in this place is very strong, so I don’t think it’s good for a human’s body to stay here for long.”

“Let’s move. There is Red Smoke, but it would be better to put an air shuttle on standby, eh?”

Even though the tigers reunited after a long time, they were quick to cooperate with Eun-ho.

While the Ho tribe members were talking, I stealthily wiped the corners of my mouth with my sleeve and tried to stand up on my feet, but Eun-ho abruptly looked in my direction and said:

“Baek-ho hyung-nim, Uisin hyung is in the state where His physical and mental power are pretty much depleted. Please stop Him from using any more of physical strength and superpower wave.”

“Got it.”

Eun-ho looked at Cheon Dongha and me, and said:

“Dongha hyung, Uisin hyung, I hope that the two of You will come with us and listen to my story.”

There was no way that I or Cheon Dongha would be able to refuse to words of the dongsaeng.

Even if that dongsaeng had an appearance we couldn’t imagine.

We nodded.

* * *

In the air shuttle moving to Hwang Myeong-ho’s great mansion.

Cheon Dongha was handed Cheon Eunha’s body by Jeok-ho and examined it.

That body was alive.

It was breathing and all vital signs like temperature, pulse and blood pressure were all within normal range.

But his eyes weren’t open.

‘It really seems like a soul has escaped. It went to ‘Eun-ho’, huh?’

Cheon Dongha’s feelings were complicated.

He hoped that his dongsaeng would shake off the strange illness and stand up.

At the time he sincerely considered borrowing the power of Demons.

If his clever dongsaeng, who noticed Cheon Dongha’s reckless thoughts, didn’t dissuade him with an eye movement, he might have chosen a wrong path.

In fact, he was surprised by his dongsaeng’s identity and background, which he couldn’t imagine, but that Jin called Eun-ho chose to call Cheon Dongha hyung.

‘It’s much better than spending his entire life laying in a hospital bed or suddenly drawing the last breath one day as my younger half brother.’

Because there were few children in Cheon family, the adults, who had outdated ideas, valued the Cheon family’s direct line more than anything, and didn’t care about one or two illegitimate children.

Before Cheon Dongha entered highschool, he heard that his father, who had left the world, had more hidden children.

But the only one to to receive the surname Cheon and name ‘Eun’ was Cheon Eunha.

It was because they left the world early before they received their names.

‘The other dongsaengs are already…’

Cheon Dongha, who investigated, with finding his younger half brother Cheon Eunha as a trigger, couldn’t help but think he had to make sure that this dongsaeng would survive.

So Cheon Dongha thought that situation right now was better when compared to the situation he thought was the worst.

‘If Eunha really is a Ho tribe member, then there is almost nothing I can do for him. Moreover, I won’t have any more reasons to worry.

When he went to sleep, he always had bad thoughts.

While sleeping, Cheon Dongha worried a lot if Cheon Eunha would also end up leaving like other dongsaengs.

So mobilizing Gwangrim and his skills, he observed Cheon Eunha whenever he had time.

One year was a short time, but he realized that he came to love[2] Cheon Eunha in the meantime, and was happy when he opened up his heart to him little by little.

‘You called me ‘Dongha hyung’…’

He couldn’t completely acknowledge him as a dongsaeng right away because Eun-ho called him Dongha hyung.

He was happy thinking that his dongsaeng moved and spoke freely, and that he called him hyung, but it wasn’t easy to accept that Ho tribe’s Eun-ho was the same being as his dongsaeng.

‘… I need time to accept it.’

Cheon Dongha raised his head and looked at Jo Uisin, who sat side by side with Baek-ho, opposite of him.

After Jo Uisin was swept up in a superpower wave so powerful that he even vomited blood, he looked very tired.

It was amazing that he didn’t faint.

‘It seems that Uisin-i isn’t a Ho or descendant.’

Eun-ho addressed Kim Sinrok as ‘Jeokho-nim’s son-nim’.

If so, it was clear that Eungwang School teacher Kim Sinrok he knew was the Ho tribe’s descendant.

In contrast to him, listening to the Ho tribe members’ conversations, Jo Uisin seemed to be the sole human here.

He couldn’t understand why a human, Jo Uisin, was mingling among the Ho tribe here.

Even so, the important point was that Jo Uisin was a human like Cheon Dongha.

As he thought that the junior, who he became close with while playing chess, was in the same position as him, his heart somewhat relaxed.

‘But how, what and from where Jo Uisin-i knew?’

Cheon Dongha looked at Jo Uisin, filled half with curiosity, half with worry.

*~*~*

[1] understand — literally it means ‘accept’.

[2] love — the literal word is ‘like’, but its emotional tone depends on the situation, so… Strong familial bonds, here we go!

Translator’s note: Oh Cheon Dongha… You’re truly the best hyung. To have SUCH A DAY and still worry about your junior and dongsaeng…

But travelers from the future know there is one part of one particular sentence that is so wrong in this chapter that it makes me even more convinced that the second part of the sentence is also very wrong.

[Perhaps because I just finished the communication, my vision was blurry, but I strangely was able to clearly see Eun-ho’s movements.] -I normally wouldn’t pay attention to this, but it caught my eye, and now… suspicious.

As for your note, I have no idea which it refers too, but the mistake in the chapter is, I think, Cheon Dongha even considering joining hands with demons even with his surname being “Cheon”. Kind of ironic dont you think?

Lol, white lily, you aint slick. Moments like these makes me forget about how irritating this little shit is.

But. Everytime he thinks, “Seongheon-yi”, I get stabbed. Especially since… wait a sec, is this what you’re referring to?

    1. I do think it’s ironic.

And my note was referring mostly to the lily. I’m not sure what you mean but ‘Seongheon-yi’… hm…

  4. Thanks for the chapter
