EX-rank’s Replay (120)

1st year class 0 class president, Kim Yuri.

An owner of amazing superpowers, solid character and a bright personality who could easily become friends with anyone.

Title heroine An Dain’s best friend.

Her importance in the game wasn’t small.

Until with the chance of the 1st year summer break incident that she refused to come to school.

‘As she stopped coming to school, her importance drastically decreased.’

From the 1st year 2nd semester, Kim Yuri became a school truant.

Then during the PMH concrete collapse incident, she only returned to school after a long time to save An Dain.

‘That incident was her last appearance, in which she played an active role and then completely left the stage, right? Kim Yuri also played a big role in the concrete’s mental breakdown.’

School was starting to become hot.

Excluding Kim Yuri, all the other children were wearing summer clothes.

Even Min Geurin started to wear a short-sleeve hoodie jacket yesterday, but Kim Yuri was wearing the long-sleeved spring uniform alone.

Sleeves of a black shirt completely covered Kim Yuri’s wrists.

Under the shirt, I saw a wide leather wristwatch.

‘It has to be to cover the seal of the Gwangrim Sealing Art.’

The foreshadowing of Kim Yuri leaving the stage was in front of my eyes, but at the current moment, I had to wait.

“This is the first time I’m going to play in Someone else’s house, who isn’t a relative! Should I buy something?”

“Uh… It’s my first time too.”

“Yeah? Just bringing yourself is enough!”

Kim Yuri cut in Sawol Seeum and Maeng Hyodon’s conversation with a smile while waving her hand.

“Every time I only ate what Yuri and Lena made for us. I should buy something for you too!”

“Ah, can’t we buy ingredients?”

“Is that so? Then let’s gather the people who don’t have club activities and go to a mart! How about we buy some cosmetics besides ingredients?”

Following Sawol Seeum, even Maeng Hyodon helped with a word after hesitating for a bit.

As a result, excluding Kim Yuri, the 1st year class 0’s children gathered money to buy ingredients and small gifts.

Due to time constraints, the kids who didn’t have club activities decided to be in charge of shopping.

In our class, the only ones among those who attended school and didn’t have club activities were Maeng Hyodon, Sawol Seeum and Min Geurin.

“Sorry, it seems that there would be a lot of people at the mart, so…”

“No, no! It was insensible for me to say.”

Even though Min Geurin appeared to want to go shopping together, in the end, she gave up and apologized.

Thanks to Sawol Seeum and Min Geurin apologizing to each other a few times, Kim Yuri had to speak up.

“Haha, it’s really fine… Seems like everyone decided to go. Then I’ll accept food requests. What do you want to eat?”

Maeng Hyodon was still a bit uncomfortable around Kim Yuri, but he succeeded in suggesting a few menu ideas.

While each of the kids soon started to choose a dish they wanted to eat.

“Vice president, why are you not saying anything?”

“I have a dinner appointment. I’ll only watch the blue lemonade syrup making.”

“Yes? That’s a pity. Then Geurin and Uisin will be leaving early?” [2]

At my words, Hwang Jiho sent me a dubious gaze, but the guy who couldn’t act fittingly for his age, declared he will eat dinner mixed among students thousands of years younger than him.

Luckily, he didn’t say he would follow me.

But as the guy who uses alter-egos, he may use a different alter-ego to dig around my side.

“How about the two of them select the snack menu?”

“Yeah, let’s do that!”

At Han Yi’s suggestion, Kim Yuri nodded her head.

Min Geurin seemed to hesitate between several menu items, so I decided to pass my selection vote to her.

“What do you want to eat? You can select all the snacks.”

“Uh? Is that really okay?”

At my suggestion, Min Geurin made a happy face but then spoke hesitantly.

“Then, can you make one more portion of the snacks for tomorrow? I’ll pay for the ingredients price.”

“You don’t have to! Rather, I was worried that there would be ingredients left.”

Kim Yuri happily approved while saying that in any case, one additional portion made no difference.

Min Guerin said that she wants to eat cookies with almonds and macaroons, and then smiled.

At those words, I recalled a certain Playable Character in the game.

‘Song Daeseok liked almonds.’

It seemed that the share Min Geurin requested was probably for Song Daeseok.

After both club activities and all classes ended, in front of the main gates.

Maeng Hyodon and Sawol Seeum, who went shopping for groceries, were holding bags filled to the brim.

Min Geurin was hiding behind the two of them, but when the class kids gathered, she stuck out her head.

Listening to the conversation, Min Geurin, who didn’t attend afternoon classes, said that she remained in the classroom, painting alone.

“Then let’s go! It’s close to school. It’s only a short walk.”

Kim Yuri, who gathered all 1st year class 0’s children, started walking at the forefront.

Eungwang District’s residential area, we had arrived after a short while.

‘Looks like it’s over there.’

The place Kim Yuri pointed at, was a building I had a memory of seeing in the game.

A single-family house with a low fence and elegant garden.

An Dain stood in front of it for several hours, trying to persuade Kim Yuri.

But in the end, persuasion to go to school turned into a failure.

“Wow! So pretty!”

“It’s because my mom dreams of having a home cafe! Ah, this is a flower bed I personally decorated.”

“There is really nothing Yuri can’t do!” [3]

I also thought so.

But it seemed that ticketing was difficult.

As I saw Sawol Seeum and Kwon Lena practice it together during break-time a few times, soon they would overcome their weakness.

“Hey, come in!”

It seemed that Kim Yuri’s house perfectly reflected her personality.

It was not as grandiose and extravagant as Hwang Myeong-ho’s mansion, but the neat environment, the interior design and the small decorations grabbed the eyes, as if they were thoughtfully selected.

In particular, the living room and the kitchen had a cozy atmosphere like that of a personal cafe, unlike those of franchise cafes.

“Wow, it’s like a cafe!”

“Uh? I saw this background on Yuri’s SNS a few times. You took those pictures at home, not at a cafe?”

“Hahaha, I guess I should have put a home cafe hashtag. I usually take pictures at home to publish.”

Kim Yuri was a bit embarrassed as she smiled, and then she took out a few aprons.

Soon the cooking class was held and the applicants started to make blue lemonade syrup and almond cookies.

The participants were Kwon Lena, Min Geurin, Sawol Seeum.

And Hwang Jiho.

“Hahahaha!”

Hwang Jiho, wearing an apron, was running amok in the kitchen.

Because his performance had a good meaning, he shocked the 1st year class 0 children, beginning with me.

“I’m lost for words. He got proportions right without even using scales!”

“Really? Let’s check it one more time! There is not even 0.1g of error. The amount of cake flour and baking powder are all perfect. How did you even do that?” [4]

“That guy, how did he complete dough faster than me, who was using the hand blender? And did you do that by hand?”

“There is simply nothing Jiho is bad at, huh?”

… I was also thinking so.

However, even such a Hwang Jiho couldn’t do ticketing.

With the connections and money Hwang Jiho possessed, he could get his hands on any ticket if he put his mind to it.

As he didnt feel a need for training ticketing, unlike hardworking Kim Yuri, ticketing would remain a weakness for that guy.

“You won’t join them?”

“I’m interested in snacks making, but trying to personally make them is kind of…”

“Me too.”

At my question, Han Yi and Maeng Hyodon, who were watching, replied.

It seemed that Han Yi was contemplating if she should try or not, but seeing the scene of Hwang Jiho cooking while laughing, she completely gave up that thought.

Like this the chaotic cooking class ended and the cookies with almonds and macadamia nuts were completed.

But as the blue lemonade syrup had to stay in room temperature for two days, it seemed that we would only be able to try the finished product when we go visit the Eternal Lake team’s building.

“You know, why don’t we take a group picture? In commemoration of you all coming to my house to play!”

At Kim Yuri’s suggestion, all the kids agreed.

“I want to take a picture too!”

“Hey, if we are taking a picture, can I show it to Daeseok…No, to a friend?”

“Let’s take a picture before eating.”

After Kim Yuri holding a bowl of cookies and Kwon Lena, holding glass bottles of unfinished blue lemonade syrup, sat down in the center.

The remaining children each took a seat around the two of them and we took a group picture.

In the picture, all the children had bright faces.

Min Geurin, with a pressed down hood, was running towards her house.

It was difficult for Min Geurin to use public transportation, which meant being in a sealed space together with an unspecified number of people for a long time, and she was in a tight spot where it was difficult to pay an expensive taxi fare.

She always ran when going to school, considering it an exercise.

‘It’s lucky I wasn’t the only one leaving.’

A little bit before, Min Geurin was at Kim Yuri’s house.

In the warm atmosphere, it was difficult to say that she had to go home now.

But luckily, thanks to Jo Uisin, who had an appointment like her, speaking up first, she could leave easily.

‘Even so, it’s a bit late.’

Looking at the time, it was a few minutes past the time she usually ate dinner with Song Daeseok.

Min Geurin grasped her collar to not let her hood come off and sprinted faster.

And in front of her house.

Song Daeseok was standing.

He, who discovered running Min Geurin, sprinted towards her.

“I’m sorry I’m late!”

The circles under Song Daeseok’s eyes were pitch black, but his face was so deadly pale it was terrifying.

He looked around, then dragged Min Geurin inside the house and went in, closing the door straight away.

It was an attitude of being wary of something.

“Nothing happened?”

“No. Why?”

Song Daeseok replied with a quiet voice.

“Because of strange people.”

Song Daeseok continued to worry about Min Geurin after the malicious comments incident after Teacher’s Day.

After that incident, Min Geurin started to be attacked by malicious commenters on the general bulletin board.

It seemed that people with some petty art world background, who tried to paint Min Geurin as a plagiarist and failed, had their pride hurt.

‘There are many more positive comments on Eungwang School general bulletin board. But there are a few people who only stubbornly post malicious comments.’

Min Geurin, who had made great achievements at a young age, was always a focus of malicious commenters, who couldn’t contain their jealousy.

Min Geurin was a bit anxious, but she pretended to speak brightly.

“Th-that’s fine! Nothing much happened. I attend school together with teacher Ham Geunhyeong-nim and our classmates, and our classmates are all nice and…”

Song Daeseok stared at Min Geurin with hollow eyes, as she rambled.

“That, are satellite observations going well? You have been looking at them harder than usual these days, you know?”

Min Geurin very awkwardly changed the subject.

Song Daeseok stared at her without a word, and then he replied.

It seemed that he decided to match her attempt at changing the subject.

“It’s a bit bothersome.”

“Bothersome?”

Song Daeseok unfolded a hologram.

He opened a dozen pages document with observation of not only PlayerSAT-K, but also every existing satellite.

Besides satellites, there were even hologram pages with documents published by private superpower research institutes attached.

It was organized together with the enormous observation document of PlayerSAT-K’s observation values.

‘How did Daeseok check and organize all of it? Isn’t Daeseok better than a decent satellite specialist?’

When Min Geurin was admiring him while looking at the packed number figures.

Song Daeseok spoke while pointing at certain coordinates.

“Previously, something was a bit strange at the Seokchon Lake’s side.”

After Song Daeseok’s finger swept above the hologram, the screen changed.

What appeared on the screen was a picture of an enormous cruise ship and a sea route.

“And not a long ago, Cymopoleia deck was strange.”

I was worried about what kind of dinner the children would make, but as I had a prior appointment, I left Kim Yuri house.

The place I moved towards in which I joined the people I had a dinner appointment with today, was a certain Chinese restaurant in Eungwang District.

The person who showed more interest in the text I showed to him, than the Four Flavours Naengchae[5], which came as the first course, laughed heartily as he spoke:

“Hahahee! I should check the complaint made personally by my junior, right?”

After checking both the complaint about Tallae Middle School I wrote and the reply it received, Seong Gukeon spoke:

“Usually such a response comes from bastards who hate to work. Or, when there is a filthy reason for it.”

Seong Gukeon decided to take charge of the case of Tallae Middle School.

They will probably be robbed of their souls soon, right?

When I relaxed and was about to enjoy the course dishes.

“I also have something I want to request from the junior.”

Seong Gukeon also has a request for me?

I had no idea what he would have wanted from me, a mere student.

“I read all Eungwang School newspaper articles. There was something which bothered me among the articles written by you.”

I guess Seong Gukeon was reading every article done by Eungwang School Newspaper Club.

The articles written by our club were all published on Eungwang School website, but I had no idea there would be outsiders who read them.

‘Which article is he talking about?’

I wrote quite a few articles during my activities at the Newspaper Club.

When I was recalling topics that were worthy of the interest of the assemblyman, moreover Seong Gukeon.

“It’s related to Eungwang School ghost stories.”

Seong Gukeon brought out the topic I couldn’t expect.

  3. Ah yes. The ghost stories that unexpectedly gave so maaaaany revelations in the stories.

  4. Sentiment

Lol, his fixation on ticketing… Guess he’s still salty about it xD

  5. MunchkinReader

I don’t know how Jo Uisin is dealing with all of these so perfectly, so many things are happening and many that he has to deal with, I would probably have forgotten something and caused a blunder or I would be running around like crazy. He also still has time for social activities! AND things are still being added to his plate!! I’m worried, worried that he’ll fail sometime and feel guilty or hate/blame himself for it.

    1. If you see any possibility of Jo Uisin blaming and hating himself for something, you know he will do it.
