Alias ‘Saint of Naejang Mountain’, real name ‘Ye Raehun’.

Playable Character Ye Raehun was a support character, who didn’t fight when he participated in battles.

His role was to give buffs like blessings[1], clear abnormal statuses, make barriers and reduce damage.

Ye Raehun was a Playable Character, who didn’t fight, as worthy of his alias ‘saint’.

‘It was also a trigger for him to become a monk.’

Before he became samanera[2] to become a monk, Ye Raehun was an ordinary student, who dreamed of becoming a rapper.

As his family believed in Buddhism, Ye Raehun also naturally became Buddhist believer, but he wasn’t enough of a devoted Buddhist believer to leave the secular world and become a monk.

Ye Raehun decided to enter a temple when he awaken a powerful superpower later than others.

When considering the social atmosphere which rejected people, who were born with superpowers, but didn’t work in a Player related industry, it stood no reason for him to debut as a rapper.

As he hated to conquer otherworlds and fight Enemies as a Player, and couldn’t endure the despair of his dream crumbling, he went back to religion.

‘It’s said that many Players, who were unwilling to fight turned to religion. Ye Raehun also became religious under such a trigger.’

He, who became samanera, had to uphold the Buddhivista Ten Precepts

Because among the ten rules, there was a rule that said ‘one cannot kill the living things’, Ye Raehun escaped the life of a Player.

But then the ‘Naejang Mountain’s National Park Naejang Temple incident’ occurred.

The Pro Player team, who was conquering the otherworld, which occurred on Naejang Mountain, was annihilated, and because they were late to make a rescue request, the whole mountain was flooded with Enemies.

The one who rescued the monks like himself and the hikers and believers, who evacuated to the Naejang Temple at the time, was Ye Raehun.

Ye Raehun wrapped a barrier around the whole Naejang Temple, and blocked the Enemy’s invasion, protecting people and the temple until support arrived, and after the Pro Player Team, which came as support, wiped out Enemies, he purified the polluted land.

After that, even though Ye Raehun didn’t have a single record of Enemy subjugation, he received an unprecedented alias from PlayerSAT-K.

The Naejang Mountain’s Saint Ye Raehun’s Gwangrim ‘Hand of Sanctuary’ was a support type, and its energy efficiency was pretty bad, but it realized an abstract blessing of ‘protecting the target from evil things’.

And I had used Ye Raehun’s Gwangrim through the Player’s Trajectory in this world before, and the result of it was in Kwon Lena’s violin case.

‘… Before returning Kwon Lena’s ribbon I picked up on the first day of school, I used ‘Hand of Sanctuary’ on it. No way, did he notice it?’

Ye Raehun looked at Kwon Lena’s violin case and fell into thoughts.

It seemed he was tracing his memories, and no matter how I looked, it was as if he was recalling the faces of all people he blessed with fortune.

Ye Raehun didn’t say a word, but the surroundings gradually became noisy.

“It’s the rapper Raehun…!”

“What? Does he know those kids?”

“He is even more handsome in reality!”

“Oppa, Your face is soooo! Handsome~!” [3]

I approved.

Ye Raehun was much better looking in reality.

I saw Ye Raehun’s model showed in PMH’s in-game and in this world’s papers and also on screen, but right now he looked best.

Was it because after he left seclusion, his hair got much longer, and now he looked like a completely ordinary person.

As my praises for my Playable Character in my mind reached the peak, Ye Raehun opened his mouth at last.

“Hi.”

Ye Raehun smiled widely and greeted with a friendly attitude.

Kwon Lena was nervous, but compared to when she met Kwon Jane for the first time, she was able to relatively maintain composure.

It seemed that Blue Violinist, who she idolized, was more nerve-wrecking for Kwon Lena, than the victory candidate of a big audition program, which recently became the hottest topic.

“Ah, yes. Hello.”

“I have something to ask….”

“Yes? Please speak.”

Ye Raehun, who beat around a bush for a moment, opened his mouth.

“Do you perhaps believe in Buddhism?”

“… Yes?”

At Ye Raehun’s words, the laughter burst out around us.

He spoke abruptly, but from the beginning, even during Playlist’s broadcast, Ye Raehun often made abrupt sounds.

His character on the variety show was that Ye Raehun would sometimes make people laugh with bizarre[4] comments, but it was unknown if he was serious or intentional.

Before Ye Raehun spoke to Kwon Lena any longer, someone called out to Ye Raehun.

“Raehun oppa!”

The one, who appeared from the crowd was Dokgo Miro.

Dokgo Miro today also had a vibrant two-tone pink hair, but her hairstyle changed once again from the last time I saw her.

Dokgo Miro was famous for having a different hairstyle and wearing different decorations every time.

She had her long hair loose, or tied into two high brides, and today she had her hair tied into one high side-ponytail and wearing hairpins and a hairband with decorations in the shape of baseballs.

As if Dokgo Miro and Ye Raehun grew close outside of the broadcast, they shared a friendly conservation.

The gazes of the two, who talked for a while, turned towards us.

After I and our class children waved our hands slightly to Dokgo Miro and greeted her, Ye Raehun asked Dokgo Miro.

“Are they Miro’s friends who you say will visit the stadium today?”

“Yes, that’s our class kids!”

“Really? Will you introduce me?”

Dogko Miro introduced each of our class children with a bright voice.

Especially when introducing Han Yi, she spoke with a soft expression.

“This is my elementary school’s classmate, Han Yi.”

“… Hello.”

“Okay. You’re the kid Miro calls her best friend, huh?”

As if knowing about Dokgo Miro’s attitude, Ye Raehun also showed interest in Han Yi.

In contrast to him, Han Yi made a complicated face.

It seemed that the line of subtle feelings between Dokgo Miro and Han Yi still remained.

“Ah, right. Raehun oppa, we’re going to practice singing the anthem for the last time right now. Let’s go quickly. Guys-ah, see you next time!”

Seeing the camera in the distance, it seemed that the Playlist shooting was about to slowly start.

As the last broadcast would be next week, the scene of participants singing the anthem wouldn’t be long, but I guess they were going to shoot anyway.

I noticed that Ye Raehun was paying attention to Kwon Lena’s violin case just like before, but because of the shooting and rehearsal ahead, he took a step back first.

“Okay, let’s meet again.”

“Yes? Ah, goodbye. Miro-ah, see you next time!”

Even when it was time for him to go, Ye Raehun glanced at Kwon Lena’s violin case and thenwent.

The class children who were startled by the sudden appearance of the famous Ye Raehun chatted with excited faces, as if they belatedly came to their senses.

“I heard that he was a monk rapper, but he didn’t seem like a monk. He seemed just like an entertainer.”

“But didn’t he said something about Buddhism to Lena?”

“I was a bit surprised when I heard Buddhism sound, but… Um, his voice is really good!”

Amidst excitement about the conversation with Ye Raehun, there was a sole serious person.

It was Mok Uram.

“… Lena, what is in that violin case?”

“Uh? Ah, violin and some random things…”

As Mok Uram was also at the dormitory rooftop that day, I thought he saw it.

I guess Mok Uram wasn’t able to see the content that came out of Kwon Lena’s violin case, because he was out of his mind after hearing the story at the time and was weeping, hanging from the dormitory wall.

“He is a musician[5], so I guess he was interested about the violin.”

“Uh, it seems it will be our turn soon. What flavor of churros everyone decide on?”

After noticing that Kwon Lena wanted to end that conversation, everyone naturally changed the topic.

Luckily, because the line waiting to buy churros decreased a lot, it was the prefect timing to change topic.

Mok Uram also accepted the change of the conversation subject and made a hogu-like comment.

“… I want to buy each of every category. Because Lena… or other class children may not like them, after they actually buy them.”

“Um, if we also consider the additional toppings like whipped cream, banana chips and syrup, there is over a dozen of them, so let’s just buy one.”

In the end, Mok Uram was stubborn and decided to buy four types of churros, but besides that there were no particular problems.

We bought a few more snacks and drinks, and then moved to take our seats.

We had six people in total.

The central seats had four people tables.

We ended up sitting at two tables.

“Then one table will sit with unknown people.”

“Will we decide the seats with the ghost leg game[6]?”

“No! I will sit beside Geurin-yi!… I hate sitting with unknown people.”

“Daeseok-ah, just sit anywhere!”

It seemed that Song Daeseok wanted to sit beside Min Guerin and at the table with only our class children.

It was an attitude not particularly different from an elementary student grumbling about seats, but because it seemed that it was still too early to put Min Geurin between strangers, I agreed with his opinion.

As result, I and Han Yi sat at the other table, and the other spectators were already there.

It was two faces I knew.

“Uisin-ah, you came to watch baseball with your class friends, huh? Good, you came.”

“Uh? Hi.”

It was Jang Namuk and Tao Sihu.

‘It doesn’t seem like they took those seats by chance. Did Ju Su-hyeok also give those two people tickets?’

The Ju-Oh Dragons die-hard fan Jang Namuk was fully prepared to cheer perfectly, with a baseball hat with a logo, a cheering scarf around his neck, a cheering stick and an authentic uniform.

Jang Namuk saw me wear just plain clothes and laid his nagging.

“As it’s the end of October, the days are cool, but the sunlight is strong, so it’s recommended to wear a hat. Since you’re visiting a baseball stadium, a baseball hat is good. Even with UV light blocker, it’s better to create a shadow over your eyes, to prevent UV light harming your eyeballs…”

“Ah, you came with people I see for the first time today, introduce me!”

When the face of Han Yi, who was reading the unceasing movement of lips, gradually darkened, Tao Sihu keenly cut him off.

It seemed that Jang Namuk was really worried ahead of the match, if even Tao Sihu displayed his keenness.

He would be very nervous, as it was a tense situation where the opinions of sports-exclusive broadcasting stations and baseball info portal sites on who would win were divided half-half.

“And looking around, I don’t see Hyodon. Is Hyodon not coming today?”

“I guess he is practicing something.”

“Right. Hyodon is hardworking, huh? Sihu-ah, we will also go to train after just watching baseball.”

“Okay, okay.”

I guess Jang Namuk was trembling so much, that he only noticed Maeng Hyodon’s absence now.

After I introduced the two people to our class children, we shared a conversation about the Children’s Day Jamsil Baseball Stadium incident.

“Ah, thinking about it, Uisin-i visited the Baseball Stadium during 1st semester. There was an incident when an otherworld appeared during the Jamsil derby match on Children’s Day, right?”

“I also heard about the incident in the baseball stadium. I searched around to do a primary investigation before a visit, and the Children’s Day incident came out. There was an explanation that the Eungwang School’s students and Military School’s cadets played an active role. So the People here right now were also People, who were there at the time?”

At Mok Uram’s question, Tao Sihu replied.

“Wonu hyung and Suhyeok-yi aren’t here today. The two probably couldn’t come today.”

As he said that, Tao Sihu’s face was somewhat bitter.

Was there a reason why the two couldn’t come at the same time?

‘The common points of Tao Wonu and Ju Su-hyeok is that they’re both first places and sons of chaebeol families…’

After I recalled the second commonality, I remembered a certain geezer, who couldn’t come here because he was busy today.

Although that geezer, Hwang Jiho, unlike my first places Playable Characters, scored 40 points in all subjects, he had a setting that he was a son of a chaebeol family.

‘No way, are the three of them currently in the same place?’

There was no strong basis for it, but I had an ominous and plausible premonition.

*~*~*

[1] blessings — 축복 (chukbok), a type of wish of fortune you can receive at the temple, different from the blessings given by higher beings and Jin people.

[2] samanera — Buddhist novice monk

[3] Your face is sooo! Handsome~! — The raws make a joke here. ‘Your face is wrapped in seaweed(김)! Handsome(잘생김)!’. The joke is based on the fact that both handsome ‘잘생김’ and ugly ‘못생김’ has ‘김’ in it. So jokingly asking if someone is pretty you can say ‘What seaweed are they wrapped in?’.

[4] bizarre — literally ‘four-dimensional’, describing when someone is so strange, that where normal people live in a three-dimensional reality, they live in four-dimensional reality.

[5] musician — in raws: ‘a person who does music’ literally.

[6] ghost leg game — ‘ladder climbing’ in raws.

[*] -yi/i — as you may notice, I decided to start adding -yi/i to names, to signal ‘이’ suffix, added for endearment. I don’t have any rules to where I add -yi and where -i, I just add them as I see fit.

Mmh yes, Uisin and his accurate af intuition. Sometimes I really question whether or not he’s a prophet.

    Thanks for the chapter, Wan.

    1. The funniest thing is, it would be the most down to earth explanation we can come up with.

      Thanks for reading, Nishicchi.
