41. Outside the borders (9)

“How dare you scheme such a corrupt thing against the Ho tribe’s benefactor and student of Divine Realm in front of my eyes?”

“That’s too much, Hwang-ho. What corrupt! Though, that’s not wrong.”

Even though he himself openly recognized it was a ‘corrupt thing’, Seodol made a dissatisfied face.

Hwang Jiho had a tired expression.

“Avoid using that ominous polite tone. Because every time you bastard fool talk with your mouth like this, calamities strike at higher frequency.”

“Yes? Calamities You say?”

“The most serious one was that epidemic which made all the trees and plants wither and die…”

“Ah, that? Wait, Hwang-ho! What are You suddenly talking about in front of Jo Uisin, that’s embarrassing!”

Seodol brushed back his well-set hair, while speaking with an extravagant tone.

Even if he spoke like this, there was no trace of embarrassment.

“I see you bastard have some self-conciousness about what you have done, eh? Is there any shame still left in you?”

“What are You talking about? What should I feel ashamed for?”

At Hwang-ho’s rebuke, Seodol’s attitude was endlessly unashamed.

“If You suddenly talk about too great of my accomplishments, when just a moment ago I suggested giving a blessing, Jo Uisin may be embarrassed. Shame or not, can You please express in moderation?”

“… Seeing that you were stuck in a mouse hole, has your language skills perhaps degenerated? What nonsense are you spewing?”

I still had little information, but one thing was certain.

Seodol was a lunatic.

And he sure enough was crooked in a different direction than Hwang Jiho.

‘Though, when I saw him during the 12 Zodiac Alliance meeting, I thought he was close to a human’s common sense compared to other heads.’

If I thought properly, there was no way the Seo tribe’s head, who named himself Cunning and stalked people he liked, was sane.

I once again felt the fairness of the fact that you can’t judge a person based on just a first impression.

Leaving alone the two 12 Zodiac heads, who bickered like Hong Gyubin and 2nd year class 0, I opened my status window in the air through the Exclusive Menu.

The drastic raise of the overall stats level after training with Baek Ho-gun was eye-catching, but now what bothered me the most was the blessing part.

Since PMH game days, users suffered from the loading failed notice ‘Some loading failed’ nicknamed SLF bug message.

During the game days, there were cases when the SLF bug solved itself with the passage of time, so I left it alone, but I don’t think my status window SLF message will disappear.

“The important thing is Jo Uisin’s will. It’s not a problem what Hwang-ho will do. Accepting a blessing won’t harm Him, You know?”

“Blessing isn’t without side effects.”

“As Jo Uisin’s vessel seems to be big, even if a great blessing is bestowed, it seems He will assimilate it… Even so, I’ll adjust the range well, so it won’t be unreasonable for the spirit. Yes? Please take my blessing. My blessing doesn’t make humans mad!”

Hwang Jiho and Seodol looked in my direction.

My answer was set from the beginning.

“I refuse.”

I wanted to prevent the phenomena of sharing minds because of a blessing, but I also couldn’t accept someone’s blessing when the blessing section was in such a state.

At my answer, the two heads were decisively split between joy and sorrow.

Hwang Jiho sneered at Seodol with a satisfied face, and Seodol made a face as if he couldn’t believe it, then spoke with a clingy energy.

“Yes? Please don’t say that and think again!”

“Stubborn, eh? Stop being clingy and step back.”

“… Well, today isn’t the only day, correct?”

Seodol seemed to be overflowing with obsessive thoughts, just like before.

“By the way, what were you planning to do after getting here? It can’t be that you came all the way here to bestow Jo Uisin a blessing.”

“Yes? That…”

Seodol looked at me and Hwang Jiho with a bright smile.

“Though I hear what is spoken about at night, I also wanted to observe Everybody.”

“Get out.”

Even under Hwang Jiho’s threat, Seodol didn’t get out.

Player’s Association China branch, Chengdu office.

After Hong Gyubin arrived in China, the local civil servant and security officer changed their words several times during the negotiations.

When he brought Jegal Jaegeol with him, some Players, who recognized Aquamarine Poet were a bit agitated, but it was just that.

‘Something is strange. There is no way that issuing a temporary ID to a teen Player should be this complicated.’

There were many things that bothered him, but Hong Gyubin didn’t show his feelings and kept a polite smile while facing Chinese Players.

Because it didn’t seem like the solution to untangle it would show up any time soon, Hong Gyubin’s worries deepened.

‘… Should I contact those people?’

He expected for it to end immediately and asked for Jegal Jaegeol’s help, but it didn’t turn out this way.

He was bothered that because he called him, Jegal Jaegeol’s abroad plans were ruined.

At that moment, unexpected people ended the deadlock.

“Teach Jegal-nim, we called for high ranking People, so it’s fine now.”

“Yep yep. Only we’re trustworthy.”

“Let’s wrap it up quickly and go to play.”

Geun Chansol and Wang Chansol lowered their voices and whispered.

Hong Gyubin and Jegal Jaegeol made dubious faces, but the 2nd year class 0’s members seemed to be already aware of what the duo did.

The 2nd year class 0’s students were making faces worthy of rascals.

“It’s a duty of the powerful to knock out the power tripping with power tripping, You know?”

“Opportunely, his dad has a friend, who is a high ranking Person of State Council.”

Geun Chansol pointed at Wang Chansol as she spoke.

If it was a representative of the State Council, didn’t it essentially mean China’s administration?

Seeing how he mentioned the State Council itself, and not the sub-office of State Council, it seemed they knew a person from the Executive Committee.

‘If it’s Wang Chansol’s household, it’s not strange, eh?’

When Hong Gyubin judged like that as if there was one more student power tripping on the personal connections, Wang Chansol pointed at Geun Chansol this time as he spoke:

“Opportunely, her relative serves at the director board of Zhuque[1] Concern.”

The enormous joint-company regarded as a symbol of Chinese otherworld market, Zhuque Concern.

Zhuque Concern dealt with the whole China market related to otherworlds, like the processing of materials like ores and fabrics dug out from the otherworlds or dropped by Enemies, selling rare items and producing Player equipment.

The existence of Zhuque Concern, which monopolized the Chinese otherworld business thanks to close relationships with the government, was one of the reasons why the Player’s Association couldn’t put their foot in China.

‘Considering Geun Chansol’s household’s connections, it wouldn’t be strange to have one or two people there, but did you say a relative?’

At the fact that those rascals had a connection network no different from a power trip free pass in the whole world, Hong Gyubin felt his back turn cold.

But he believed that they would use those connections for Jegal Jaegeol’s sake and appreciated the fact that he himself didn’t end up having to step out and power trip.

“As expected, we’re the best.”

“Teach Jegal-nim stands at the side of the best us, so it’s more than prefect.”

When Geun Chansol and Wang Chansol high-fived, the people behind the window became busy.

The official in charge of the Player immigration changed her attitude straight away and soon issued Mok Uram a temporary ID.

“Teach Jegal-nim! We did well, correct?”

“As expected, counterattacking the power tripping with power tripping is quite thrilling.”

While Jegal Jaegeol thanked the children, Hong Gyubin received the temporary ID and fell into thoughts.

‘Was this matter so complicated because of the immigration official’s whimsies? If not, was it a reflection of the international inclinations of Player community? Or perhaps…’

Hong Gyubin looked at the picture of Mok Uram, which was recorded in the Player’s Association’s database.

‘It was because it was connected to student Mok Uram?’

***

It was later than expected, but Jegal Jaegeol and his fanatics safely got Mok Uram’s temporary ID.

It seemed that the 2nd year class 0 wanted to send Hong Gyubin and Mok Uram off to Korean Peninsula straight away, but Hong Gyubin shook his head.

“Uram still didn’t open his eyes. He is a teenage Player, who possess potency of Eungwang School student standard. It’s dangerous for him to cross the border when he is unconscious and his superpower wave is unstable. If an incident happens during crossing the border, it will turn into an international problem.”

As Jegal Jaegeol agreed with Hong Gyubin’s words, the 2nd year class 0 shut their mouths.

The Ho tribe and Seo tribe heads, who were observing it, seemed to have different thoughts.

“I guess Hong Gyubin is bothered by something, eh? It should be related to the temporary ID being issued late.”

“Agreed. Gyubin did a lot of ‘people transportation’ work for the Regulation Enforcement Department. He can deal with a considerable problem alone and cross the border. There must be other reasons.”

I saw Hong Gyubin look towards me and the two heads, and nod his head slightly.

‘We’re going to move together, huh? It should be better to go together until the end of the Newspaper Club’s schedule.’

It may be just because Hong Gyubin wanted to be together with Jegal Jaegeol, but as even the two heads seemed to have the same opinion, I decided to leave it alone.

“The Newspaper Club is scheduled to gather news when visiting Chengdu City’s Player Training Center later today. Will it be okay to leave him to You?”

“Yes, please go and come back safely.”

“Teach Jegal-nim! Can we go with You?”

At the words that Hong Gyubin would be staying behind, the 2nd year class 0’s bastards spoke happily, but Jegal Jaegeol shook his head.

“The Chinese Player Training Centers have complex entrance procedures. It’s difficult to increase the number of visitors.”

“If we power trip again, it will be solved straight away!”

Power trip again?

I started to vaguely guess what happened during the ID issuing process.

“Don’t bother your Acquaintances.”

“It doesn’t matter if we kick once or twice today!”

“We want to go with teach Jegal-nim!”

Jegal Jaegeol faced the shouting 2nd year class 0’s senior bastards and looked them into the eyes one after another, while quietly persuading them.

“Borrowing someone’s power always has a price. If it’s once or twice as a favor, and it’s a power used for your juniors and not for yourself, I probably can let it go. However, right now isn’t such a case, right? I’m always worried, because it may become a difficult for you later.”

At Jegal Jaegeol’s words, the 2nd year class 0’s bastards closed their mouths.

As a result of Thoth’s blessing bestowed on Jegal Jaegeol, he couldn’t lie.

Then, as his words ‘I always worry’ were his truthful heart, the 2nd year class 0’s senior bastards from their position as disciples could do nothing but shut up to ease their master’s worries.

“Stay with team leader Hong Gyubin-nim while I leave.”

“Yees….”

“Yep…”

The 2nd year class 0’s senior bastards nodded their heads with lifeless faces.

Hong Gyubin looked at Jegal Jaegeol with a somewhat moved expression.

It was natural to be moved by my Playable Character’s nature when he was dealing with the 2nd year class 0.

“Uh… What happened? Did the number of people increased?”

Starting with Mun Saeron, who appeared with an awkward face, the Newspaper Club members arrived in the lobby late, and we started to discuss the noon plans.

***

The Newspaper Club’s visit to the Player Training Center according to noon plans began.

The mood of Hwang Jiho, who stepped out of the air bus, seemed particularly bad.

Even without asking I could guess the reason.

Because Seodol shamelessly followed us here.

“Why are you coming in?”

“Even without borrowing someone else’s power, I can get the visit permission with my power alone.”

“Show-off.”

“I’m a show-off.”

The majority of the Newspaper Club members responded with ‘Was another lunatic added?’ and ‘I think I saw that face somewhere…’.

There were two exceptions.

Mun Saeron and Jegal Jaegeol.

The information-type Mun Saeron seemed to recognize Seodol’s identity and shut her mouth.

Jegal Jaegeol made a bit bitter face, but only threw the words ‘Please don’t disrupt our plans.’ and allowed Seodol to accompany.

‘There is no way that he has no idea who bestowed on his first disciple a blessing, huh?’

Seodol might have been involved in the secret story between Hong Gyubin and Jegal Jageol.

When we headed towards the Player Training Center’s entrance with Jegal Jaegeol as a lead.

“Step back!”

Paaaa…!

Hwang Jiho ran out in front of Jegal Jaegeol and spread out a barrier.

When, before any questions could be asked, I felt the superpower wave’s current and reflexively wrapped my body in the superpower wave.

Smoke of the explosion enveloped the surroundings.

Did you see a mistake? 🐞

  1. Thanks for the chapter

    1. Thanks for reading <3

Jo Uisin : Is there no one sane in this novel?
    Me : eh, sanity’s overrated

    1. I agree, but I fear that Jo Uisin thinks of himself as sane, and we all know that he is the worst of them all.

  3. The comment at the end got me! I can just picture Hwang-ho calling Cunning a “tree-killer” with a dead serious expression. I hope those trees weren’t on Snare’s mountain! (although, there’s honestly no good place for a plant epidemic to happen ;;;; )

    1. It was unexpected that Hwang-ho was so hang up on those trees, considering that the Ho tribe have no direct connections to trees. But indeed, if something happened on the Heavenly Wings Mountain, it would make sense.

Hey there, Wan! First of all I want to thank you again for the incredible translation. Please Keep it up! Then again you clearly love this novel so I don’t think you’ll quit easily. And I have a question and since I don’t want to be spoiled to much I’m only looking for a “yes” or a “no”. Is there, at any moment in this story, romance for Uisin? And is it a harem? (Please say no)
Again, love your work! See you in all future chapters

    1. Hey again, Raxarox! And thank you again for reading! I won’t abandon it unless it gets an official translation (and even then I might struggle to leave it alone), so keep reading, though you also doesn’t seem like one to give up that story. So to reassure you. At the time of writing (6/12/2014), Romance for Jo Uisin, no. Any harem in the story, no.

And I again again thank you for reading, see ya in the future! <3

      1. Raxarox

Thank you very much for answering so promptly, Wan! But yeah I kinda expected that answer. This story seems to be more about found family and friendship than about love, so it makes sense. Also, I feel like any woman trying to involve herself in that way with Uisin would have to deal with a LOT of scrutiny from really powerful beings.

        1. A LOT of deadly scrutiny for certain.
