51. Student representative general election (3)

Today we lost in the basketball.

The third game went according to Yu Sang-hun’s predictions.

This time the match’s MVP was the Military Academy’s Highschool Department’s power forward, but the most annoying one was Tao Sihu.

Perhaps because he was blocking Yu Sang-hun so viciously, the highest praise the opposing team could give ‘What kind of defense is that?!’ came out.

“The one who is specially marking Sang-hun is Uisin’s friend, correct? As expected from Uisin’s friend, he is doing well!”

“Isn’t that marked kid you call Sang-hun also vice president’s friend? I think that kid ate bread vice president’s Bread Shuttle brought a few times… he is a basketball kid, huh?”

After the match ended, Sawol Seeum and Min Geurin each said a word.

Setting aside Yu Sang-hun, for whom it was right, Tao Sihu was treated as my friend, because before the match started he came to our side’s cheering seats to greet us against my will.

It would be better if they just called him ‘the kid you know’.

“What kind of defense was the vice president’s friend bastard putting?!”

On the other side, Song Daeseok, who got absorbed into the basketball match, couldn’t let go of his regrets and spoke like this.

It seemed that my Playable Character and my mindset were also matching well.

In any case, Tao Sihu did on the defense so well it wasn’t strange for such a sound to come out.

“Tomorrow is closing ceremony, but it isn’t settled yet. Then what will they do?”

Tomorrow, with the closing ceremony as the last, the first sport exchange with the Military Academy’s Highschool Department will end.

At Min Geurin’s question, I opened the program schedule on the hologram and answered.

“The closing ceremony is at dusk. Because there are disciplines where no team gained two victories yet, the additional matches will be held to determine the winner before that.”

“Looking at the today’s scores… The remaining matches are basketball and ice hockey.”

After that, I conversed with children, while looking at the scores of other disciplines.

Excluding basketball and ice hockey, all games had a victor with two victories from one of the schools already.

‘Bak Seung-hyeon’s friend won soccer as MVP, and we lost in American football to the great quarterback from the Military Academy’s Highschool Department.’

I saved the clips of all the videos of the scoring scenes from each match and though the usage of superpowers was banned, because Players had superior physical abilities compared to ordinary people, the amazing plays stood out.

After playing the video, Min Geurin moved her fingers, as if sketching the scene of the intense play of the athletes, and Sawol Seeum couldn’t contain his awe.

Song Daeseok was frustrated about the loss in the basketball match and kept a sour face, but after watching the highlight videos of the other games, his face gradually relaxed and at Min Geurin’s words that she wants to see the basketball match tomorrow, his mood completely improved.

I confirmed that the class children recovered their energy, and relieved headed to the place of appointment.

Study cafe in front of the school.

It was a place I visited a few times before to play chess with Cheon Dong-ha.

Today I came here to meet both Yeom Junyeol and Cheon Dong-ha.

After I knocked at the promised study room and entered, I saw two people unfolding a chess board.

Looking at a holographic game record unfolded besides the chess board and the traces of noting something down, it seemed like they weren’t playing, but reviewing the match and solving the check problems.

‘It seems to be a game between me and Cheon Dong-ha.’

I felt embarrassed inside because the two were reviewing my game in front of my eyes.

There were many famous games of pro chess players, so why it had to be my game?

No, it was also Cheon Dong-ha’s game, so you could say it was a game worthy referring to.

“Uisin-ah, come here. I think it will end in just a bit, so can you wait?”

“Sorry. We tried to finish it before you came, but because there were moves that weren’t quite solved, it took longer than expected.”

The two made apologetic expressions.

But it was me who called the two busy people for the interview, so they shouldn’t be sorry.

I looked at the two people’s empty coffee cups and asked:

“I’m fine with it. Do You want me to bring You more coffee?”

The two people declined, but when I said that I would be going to get my share of drink, so I would bring it along, they opened their mouths.

Anyhow, because the coffee machine and refrigerator were installed in each study room, it wasn’t any particular effort.

“Then espresso lungo for me. It’s in the closest coffee capsule dispenser machine.”

Yeom Junyeol pointed at the coffee capsule machine.

Cheon Dong-ha glanced at the electric kettle at the side.

“Please bring just hot water for me.”

Was he going to personally prepare a coffee mix?

Each time I saw Cheon Dong-ha, he seemed to be drinking mixed coffee.

As I returned with drinks, including my share of orange juice, the two wrapped up the game reviewing at some point.

“Sorry for making you wait.”

“No, thank You for arranging a place. The game reviewing process was interesting.”

It was Yeom Junyeol who arranged this place.

Originally we planned to do a brief interview about the sport exchange through the device and end on that.

But after mentioning the student representative general election to my kind disciple, he suggested coming to see him with Cheon Dong-ha, with whom he had an evening appointment.

My virtuous Playable Character was considerate of the Newspaper Club’s junior and could wait after preparing the place a few hours in advance.

“What games did You see?”

“American Football. It even went into overtime, but sadly we lost.”

After that we naturally talked about our thoughts and feelings regarding the exchange with Military School, and soon the interview continued naturally.

The interview was achieved by Yeom Junyeol usually throwing a topic, Cheon Dong-ha helping with a word, and me asking additional questions.

As the two people’s conversations were endless, it seemed that the two knew each other well.

They were fiercely clashing rivals, competing for the school’s first place and in the chess matches, but in private, they seemed like nothing but friends.

“Something which left the biggest impression on me during the exchange? It wasn’t something related to the matches.”

“Same for me. When the schedule suddenly changed with the chairman-nim’s order, I was quite flustered.”

“That was chairman’s order?”

“Yeah. A day before the opening ceremony, chairman-nim suddenly personally contacted the Student Council’s office and…”

The thing that left the biggest impression during the exchange for both of them was Byeoksa sword dance presented by Baek Ho-gun.

Yeom Junyeol, who belong to the Student Council, revealed the behind-the-scenes story of the sudden change in the program, and commented that he was curious, who the student who danced Byeoksa sword dance was.

Besides that, Cheon Dong-ha mentioned that the Eungwang School’s cheering squad left a deep impression on him.

“The scene when Myeong-su hyung used his Gwangrim to raise the kids into the air, and the ‘Shooter of Divine Bullets’ shot dozens of firelights into the air was deeply impressive. Their teamwork was great.”

“I was surprised, because there was no such scene during the training. I’m really glad it worked out.”

“… It was Myeong-su hyung’s improvisation.”

At Yeom Junyeol’s words, I also was surprised.

The fantastic scene that the Eungwang School’s cheering squad presented during the soccer match was an improvisation?!

There were some among the cheering squad performers, who were surprised by Ji Myeong-su suddenly using Gwangrim, but it was even more surprising that they created that stage in an instant.

Ji Myeong-su also had big guts, as worthy of my Playable Character, and the title heroine, who accepted that improvisation without a hitch, was outstanding.

While holding expectations for the closing ceremony performance tomorrow, this topic was finished.

The next one was a story related to the student representative general election.

“Now that I think about it, I may fail, you know?”

“Even so, reveal your aspiration as a candidate.”

Unlike the Guideline Club’s president, who was selected among the Guideline Club itself, the Student Council’s president couldn’t be guaranteed until the election was held.

The representative example was the Student Council’s president 15 years ago, Seong Gukeon.

When the class 0’s famous problem child, who wasn’t even part of the Student Council, suddenly registered in the Student Council’s president election as a candidate, no one expected him to be elected.

Because there were many people who registered as candidates to prompt themselves, or to partake in the festival called ‘election’, not with the goal of being elected.

To prevent fake numbers, signatures of 50 people recommending and one student recommendation letter was needed to register as a candidate for the Student Council’s president, and Seong Gukeon was said to barely meet that condition by gathering signatures from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year class 0s of that time.

I guess even in a different period, the comradeship of class 0 was extraordinary.

‘The class 0’s loyalty[1] shines here, huh? Because Woo Gihwan and GeunChan&WangChan also care about our class noticeably more than about other 1st year classes.’

Seong Gukeon’s pledges and speeches shook Eungwang School’s voters, and he was elected with an overwhelming voting rate.

But right now, there was no such special situation, and no talent worthy of becoming a second Seong Gukeon, so there was almost no chance that Yeom Junyeol would fail.

No, there might be someone the two 2nd years were keeping an eye on.

I used an opportunity to throw this question during the interview.

“Is there a candidate You’re bothered by right now?”

The two people’s expression changed for a moment.

Yeom Junyeol’s expression turned rough, and Cheon Dongha’s face turned tired.

I guess there was someone who came to mind.

“Jinseung tried to register as a candidate, because of a burning sense of rivalry with Junyeol.”

I guess Ma Jinseung made a scene again.

“Because on the slogan he wrote to overthrow… Hongryong, the 2nd year building almost turned into a sea of fire.”

No way, did he try to write ‘Overthrow Little Hongryong’ on the slogan?

If such writing came out on the PR poster, Yeom Junyeol’s royal wrath would engulf the entire school.

“If he picks up a fight, I have to accept it, right?”

Yeom Junyeol’s voice was filled with hostility towards Ma Jinseung.

If Ma Jinseung came out as a Student Council’s president with such a slogan, the 2nd year building may become a sea of flames for real.

Yong Jegeon would immediately become a war participant with an ecstatic face in that sea of flames.

“Don’t worry. Even though Jinseung personally wrote the recommendation letter, he won’t be able to obtain 50 people’s signatures. I spoke to everyone around him.”

Cheon Dong-ha spoke resolutely.

It was a bit pitiful that Ma Jinseung wouldn’t be able to receive even one recommendation signature, but he committed a sin, so it was deserved.

“If I become a Guideline Club’s president, I’ll try to make Jinseung into the Guideline Club’s vice president.”

“You mean you will give the position of the Guideline Club’s vice president to Ma Jinseung?”

“Uh.”

Yeom Junyeol had a somewhat displeased face, but Cheon Dong-ha’s mindset seemed firm.

“It’s better if Jinseung doesn’t come to the Student Council. But anyhow, even if he entered Student Council’s president election, he would fail.”

Cheon Dong-ha recognized Ma Jinseung as worthy of the Guideline Club’s vice president position, but his review was cold.

In fact, according to the current opinion, Ma Jinseung couldn’t win against Yeom Junyeol.

It was difficult to discriminate between the merits and demerits of my Playable Characters, but Eungwang School’s voting was cold-hearted.

“Then shall we wrap the interview here? Do you have any more questions?”

“No, it’s fine.”

It was difficult to make an article about Ma Jinseung’s story, but I obtained plenty of good topics for an article already, so there were no problems.

“Hey, then shall we go get dinner? Uisin-ah, what do you want to eat?”

Yeom Junyeol, who stood up from his seat, asked softly.

As the story of Ma Jinseung ended, Yeom Junyeol, who was harsh, returned to my kind and gentleman-like disciple.

I stood up from my seat, while recalling what menus Yeom Junyeol and Cheon Dong-ha liked during PMH days.

While we were moving, I abruptly recalled a person Cheon Dong-ha mentioned before and asked him:

“How is Your dongsaeng doing? It’s the middle of exam preparation period right now.”

At those words, Yeom Junyeol reacted before Cheon Dong-ha.

“Dongha-ah, you have a dongsaeng? I thought you’re an only child.”

Looking at that reaction, it seemed that Yeom Junyeol didn’t know that Cheon Dong-ha had a dongsaeng.

Cheon Dong-ha considered his words for a moment, and then opened his mouth.

“… Just passing by.”

Why are you replying with such an expression?

Cheon Dong-ha didn’t look like he had any plans on speaking about Him, so even when the personal stories kept coming up, the topic of that dongsaeng didn’t come up after that.

Yeom Junyeol was noticeably curious, but worthy of my considerate disciple, he didn’t ask.

  1. I don’t wanna compare but it really feels like the most preferred, or rather, the favorite Hyung is Uisin. (That’s pretty obvious isn’t it?)

    Coffee… I don’t like coffee… I’d rather drink a bitter tea.

    Thanks for the chapter, Wan.

    1. Frankly speaking no, I think he cares about all of them equally, it’s just that our pov is mostly from the oblivious and ICANTBELOVED Jo Uisin, so he had to work double hard to show it or Jo Uisin will miss it (he still does). So I think it’s just a narration bias. In the first place, he is someone who shows his love quietly, by what he does, so he doesn’t makes it THAT OBVIOUS unless it’s Jo Uisin.

I like coffee, but… It’s not something I drink on daily basis. Much prefer tea which I can not only re-use three times, it always gives me a different flavor, so I don’t get bored.

      Thanks for reading, Nishicchi.

Hi Wan, thank you for the chapter!

Can I ask who is this person who works double hard to show care for Uisin?

    1. Hi candidcandyy~ Thank you for reading!

A certain junior who is very serious about his hyungs. Saying anything more would be a spoiler.
